Steven Estcourt
Managing Director
Steve brings over 20 years of experience in financial technology, combining deep technical expertise with strategic oversight. After spending more than a decade in London building valuation and control systems for leading financial institutions, he returned to South Africa to apply that experience to the local investment industry.
Since founding Ocellics in 2007, Steve has been instrumental in leading the development of strategic solutions for asset managers and institutional investors. His focus lies in aligning technology with business needs, ensuring the design and implementation of scalable, efficient systems that support long-term operational goals.
Jonathan McKie
Director & Software Architect
Jonathan has built a career around designing and delivering robust, high-performance systems for the investment industry. Before joining Ocellics in 2013, he led software architecture at RisCura, where he specialised in building systems for risk reporting and data management.
At Ocellics, Jonathan leads platform architecture and development strategy. He plays a central role in shaping technical solutions, from planning and design through to implementation, ensuring they meet the performance and integration demands of complex financial environments.
Robert Davis
Senior Fund Data Engineer
After completing a BEng in Chemical Engineering at Stellenbosch University, Rob transitioned into data and technology, further strengthening his skills with formal studies in Computer Science and Data Science.
Now a Senior Fund Data Engineer at Ocellics Fund Data Services, Rob specialises in building and optimising data pipelines, validation frameworks, and reporting workflows for investment teams. He works closely with clients to structure and transform complex, multi-source data into reliable, analytics-ready outputs.
With strong expertise in SQL, data modelling, and cloud-based architectures, Rob focuses on improving data quality, automation, and operational efficiency. He is particularly skilled at designing scalable solutions that support consistent, auditable, and repeatable fund reporting processes.
